Textbk is a BIG NO. Very different from what's taught in lecture. Only make you more confused. Project was worth more than final exam. Need to talk a lot in class to earn participation marks.
Teaching Staff:
Lecturer was Dr David. Interesting and engaging. Very american style of lecturing. Tutor was Hwee Sing. OK, not bad. Provided help when needed.
Assessment Details:
Spent too much time on project. Not worth the effort. In my opinion, the 10 min video didn't make me feel like doing a management module. More like JC PW. Need to bullshit a lot. The exam questions very philosophical, which was bad for me since I'm not the philosophical or literature person, and not one who can bullshit a lot. A real pain in the ass, since it's a core module.
Overall Experience & Feedback:
Time vampire. Lots of ppl from other facs took this module. Some Yr 4 students were graduating and chose this module just to satisfy their graduating requirements. Hence, some (NOT all) were just phantom group members, didn’t do any work. Only thing I liked was no need to take notes.

(1) Certain main points of Management Organisation, (2) What Dr Lehman thinks is important and (3) Attempts to induce good moral behavior and thoughts subconsciously.
Teaching Staff:
Lecturer: Dr Lehman Comment: Interesting teaching style with interactive examples that are really illustrative.
Assessment Details:
Assessment: Subject Pool Participation (10%) Tutorial Participation (20%) Group Project (40%) Exam (30%) Tip 1: This module's syllabus and assessment varies greatly according to semester and lecturer. Therefore, this review could be inapplicable and also due to my biasness. Tip 2: Speak up like a business student/ apple polisher/ bootlicker or just talk to get participation marks which i didn't as the discussions were simple-minded and nonsensical. Tip 3: Do not waste too much time on the project. This module's project wasted at least six hours and sometimes almost an entire day weekly from week 3 to week 11.
Overall Experience & Feedback:
Experience: I rate it F as its effort (time spent) to performance (grade) is totally hay wired or screwed up. Also, it is not comprehensive as it teaches only a few things about Management. However, it is sure pass module with the Civics and Moral Education sort of project, Exam questions with philosopher quotes and low amount (relatively 10%) of content compared to other lecturers that cover almost the Management Syllabus that suffocates students.

No recommended textbook at first. After many many kiasu Singaporeans started asking the prof for a textbook, he recommended 5. I didn't read any of the textbooks, just the notes- & I got an A; which puzzled me because I can't write for nuts.. Though I'm totally not complaining.
Teaching Staff:
The lecturer is a very charismatic guy who is entertaining & fluent in his presentations.
Assessment Details:
If I remember correctly, project & final exam have equal weightage (35%), & the rest comes from attendance + participation. Tutorials are not very useful, we do activities & play games- some are boring some are interesting but general consensus at least in my class was that we don't learn that much.
Overall Experience & Feedback:
This module made me tear my hair out. Firstly it requires a LOT of bullshitting skills- no, sorry, I mean it requires you to write fluently. Secondly it was very hard for my group to find a company willing to be the target of our project.. Thirdly, the notes are very skimpy & nobody copies much down during lecture time because the lecturer encourages us to sit, focus & absorb rather than frantically copy down everything.. He believes learning > grades, but ultimately I guess the Singaporean in us is more worried about grades. If you’re the typical Singaporean who needs a lot of academic substance to work with, don’t take this module. If you’re the kind that loves to waffle & write, this is probably for you.

textbook is useless.but i bought it and i finished reading it. it is not directly tested but it teaches you how to smoke.
Teaching Staff:
Assessment Details:
the project eats up a huge amount of time, I believe I will never have this kind of projects in Biz any more. Terrible.
Overall Experience & Feedback:
the project is the key. There are many nice tutors around who give quite high marks for that. If you can get full marks for the project, you are likely to get an A(It is not impossible) but really a time vampire, i agree I spent more than 100 hrs doing the project(estimation) Final exam you need to smoke. For the lecture, well, it is fun, but you can learn nothing from it. It is all based on your own thoughts. In the final, just remember some key points and smoke… – Haokai (business)

I personally think that this module is quite interesting as you learn about what is in people's minds!haha Textbook is not required. Exam is more of thinking kind of questions! (depending on the lecturer, I understood that the previous prof set MCQ questions!)
Teaching Staff:
The lecturer, Prof. David was really nice and caring! He made lectures interesting by playing games etc. Depending on the tutors you get, some are quite interesting and helpful, while some are not.
Assessment Details:
Group project made up a huge portion of the grade (40%). You are required to make a video and no written report is needed. However, it is highly competitive and the marks were close, average mark was super high, 35/40! Final exam only made up 30% of the final grade. The rest came from tutorial attendance, tutorial participation and subject pool, 10% respectively.
Overall Experience & Feedback:
The lectures were very interesting and relax. Basically you just go into the LT and listen to what Prof. David said. No notes taking and all the lecture PPTs will be uploaded at the end of the day. However, students might feel very unsecure because there is no notes to study and no practices! – me (science)

No textbook required. Supplementary reading not examined. Lecturer insists that we listen and learn from lectures. That said, it helps if you study the slides and summarise them. Useful in studying for exams.
Teaching Staff:
Very charismatic and generous lecturer. Many opportunities to win money. Slides are minimalist and non-explanatory. Read the notes underneath the slides.
Assessment Details:
40% from group project, which is time consuming. 30% from final exam, 8 short answer questions. 20% from class participation. Major differentiator. 10% from subject pool, free and easy.
Overall Experience & Feedback:
Time vampire. Like: very interactive tutorials. Dislike: “grasping at thin air”. That said, I scored A through intelligent smoking. – h-lee (business)

take this module only if your english is of acceptable standard.. because you can expect to smoke through all the content. Well, not exactly 'smoke' but, you must explain clearly because there is a far amount of writing and explainations.
Teaching Staff:
discussions consist of a round table discussion on the food for thought question for the week, 30mins, after that time is for you to spend with your grpmates on project discussion!
Assessment Details:
there's a 10min video.. so better start networking with the right people.. but the theme changes every sem so...
Overall Experience & Feedback:
learning > exams for this module. the prof insists it to be fun, interactive.. very american way of teaching I guess.. interesting to see all the locals much at a loss because no note taking etc… we do feel very insecure! – iLuvBBA

Basically, the module start off at looking at psychological differences in people and how it effects them (emotion, attitudes, preception, motivtations etc). Then, the middle point of the module cover group dynamics (like why some groups fail while other success, why everyone just follow law, why we torelate a strong leader despite his shortcoming, etc). Lastly, it rounds off with a basic look at organizations
Teaching Staff:
My lect/tut was Li Wendong. Although the first impression he is a montonous guy, but I think he did a good job in teaching as time goes by. And as he is the class point of contact for the whole 6 weeks, you will feel there is some bonding between him and the class (like a tution teacher tutoring the same bunch of tutorees from sec 1 to n/o level)
Assessment Details:
35% from group project, 35% from final exam, 4 short answer questions 10% from class participation 10% from subject pool 10% (peer evaluation + self-reflection)
Overall Experience & Feedback:
I took this module in special sem, where there is no lecture and tutorial, just 3 hour long seminars.
If you are expecting to it to be a marathon lect cum tutorial session with info bomarding, you are mistaken. It is more like going to the class to watch video, play games, do impromptu mini presentations and meet up with group mates to discuss the projects
But you should try not to miss the seminars session, as particpation is worth 10% . In my time, it is speaking out + the compulsory informal memo (In NUS term, response paper without the need for proper cititation aka GP essay without a mini word requirement/max word limit). It is good to take particpation with a bit of seriousness as you don’t have the luxury of time to mug ur textbk (most of the time will be taken to do the project + there is no reading week for u to catch up)
Also, try to get a second hand txtbk (it is the same as when prof sandy lim take the module). Though it is not essential,
1. the lect notes in special sem given is quite cui
2. the exam is open book
3. No wonder u can remember all the 10+ chapers in the books unless you are special

Not too difficult, a bit of psychology, but its made interesting b/c its applied to real life managerial situations. Theories need a bit of familiarization but generally all good-to-know info (but no guarantee that you can remember all those theories when you go to the working world anyway haha). I read the entire textbook cos the notes were quite brief. Open-book exam so no need memo, just understand and rmb main points so that you know how to apply when you see similar things in the exam. Seminar-style lessons which don't suit me, but oh well, there are people who love it, cos of the "free" participation marks.
Teaching Staff:
Special sem is a bit different b/c tutors from normal sem become facilitators of lessons in special sem. So its not really lecture-style, its really more on facilitation of discussion and a bit of teaching. My tutor was fun and really nice, v clear and v aware to not bore us out totally. He's strict on quality, but not on other more lame things like deadlines and punctuality etc.
Assessment Details:
Project + grp presentation (the main differentiator of grades i guess) 30% Exams 40% Class Participation 10% Indiv and grp mmb reflections and evaluation 20%
Overall Experience & Feedback:
Pros: Not boring, fun, intriguing topics.
Cons: Have to consistently speak up in class (which might be difficult for most people besides ~10% of the student population who have never-ending questions to ask), workload is v heavy for special sem (project involved)

Content is so simple. It either you memorise or bullshit all the way.
Teaching Staff:
Nothing much to say.
Assessment Details:
Project, participation and exam
Overall Experience & Feedback:
The video project is a time vampire and irrelevant to what we learn. Exam is as simple as abc, i just bullshit all the way and was awarded an A for it. It is a popular module and bid point is high. A easy to score module. If take it in special sem, it might be better since there is no video project and content wise will be cut down. A no need to study module.

Seriously, there is not much content. They say buy textbook cause it's an open book, but the textbook the recommend is not very comprehensive either.
Teaching Staff:
nothing much to say. lects are suppose to be 2 hours, but the actual time spent for lect is about 1.25hrs "air time".
Assessment Details:
35% project, 35% finals, 20% participation, 10% subject pool.
Overall Experience & Feedback:
had a “horrible” group, and had many timetable clashes with them. in the end they went ahead to do project without getting me invovled, which seriously pulled my grade down (cause you got a peer review)
